Alba County Council and the German Society for Technical Cooperation – GTZ in collaboration with Alba Local Energy Agency , organized the „International Renewable Energy Conference – Alba 2010”. The conference took place in A9 auditorium of the University „1 Decembrie 1918” of Alba Iulia on 25th September 2010.
The conference was structured in two parts: the first part focused on the existing legislative issues, strategies and joint promotion of RES GTZ (German Society for Technical Cooperation) and Alba County Council. The presentations given by Innovative Wind Concepts representative in Germany – Oliver Lutz and by the GTZ representative, Bruno Wilhelm were of great interest, in which technical and management aspects of the project „Identifying and promoting renewable energy potential in the county of Alba.” were detailed.
The second part of the conference focused on practical applications and case studies of renewable energy. Among the case studies the electricity supply for Pianu sheepfold was of great importance given that it is the first of its kind on national level. The presentation was made by Ecovolt manager, Florin Fleșeriu, the company that installed the system. The conference ended with a visit to Pianu and a traditional dinner.
The conference was also the final event of the project „Identifying and promoting renewable energy potential in the county of Alba” was launched on this occasion the wind map of White County.
